About Mud and Wool
Mud and Wool is located on a beautiful 14-acre small holding with outstanding views over the Cambrian mountains. Jo and Adam are both Osteopaths and Artists, Jo a weaver and Adam a potter.
They bought the property in 2021 with the dream of converting the site into a tranquil environmentally regenerative retreat for people to experience and recentre themselves away from the business of life and to enjoy this area of natural outstanding beauty.
The small holding was perfect for their dreams as it contained a converted barn, previously a restaurant, and holiday cottages as well as their home. This allows them to fulfil their dreams including places for people to stay, space to hold art workshops and their own studios and an ability to rent the space for events with nature, resilience and community playing a key role.
The property is located between the Cambrian mountains and the coast, making it an ideal location for accessing both the sea and the mountains, both of which are about 15 mins drive.
The small holding was previously part of a large dairy and sheep farm. Jo and Adam are trying to restore the biodiversity, experimenting with many diverse types of growing to work alongside the climate changes we are now experiencing. These include a Food Forest, a Silvo-Pasture field, a large polytunnel, willow for biofuel, dye plants for dyeing, flax for textiles and Hugo Culture beds. They are more than happy to show people around to explain what they are doing.
