RAG ART STUDIOS SUE CLOW
Living in Wales, Sue combines textile art with small holding. She has been making rugs and recycling textiles into hats, bags, art pieces and curiosities for more than 20 years. Sue often works in museums demonstrating the traditional techniques, designs, tools and explaining some textile history.
Rag rug making is all about bold creativity, playing with colour and re-purposing unwanted things. Inspired by foreign travels, Welsh textile traditions and a philosophy of thriftiness, Sue encourages her students to see hoarding as a virtue, and waste as a rich source of raw materials.
